The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the very heartbeat of the church. It was a delight of God (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) before Creation (Ephesians 1:4). It was declared shortly after mankind's fall into sin (Genesis 3:15). The Prophets of the Old Testament declared the Gospel as they delighted in it (1 Peter 1:10-12). The Church of the New Testament held it as her delightful foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:19-22) as they sought to display the Gospel for all to see (Ephesians 3:7-13). 

It is this Gospel of Jesus Christ that is the "power of God for salvation". So, we want this message and reality to be the primary focus of our individual lives, of our families and in our Church gatherings. We want the songs we sing to delight in Jesus, the Word that is preached to declare Jesus, and our gatherings to display Jesus. After all, it is in Jesus Christ that we come to know God (John 1:18 and to see His glory (2 Corinthians 4:5-6).
