Russell Tusing | Pastor

Russell has been married to Sarah since 2002, after meeting at Bible College. They have four children together.


Russell enrolled in Bible college, the summer after conversion, and moved from there into a Bachelor in Theology with honors. From there he moved into his Masters in Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary. Russell has served as lead pastor at SGC since 2011. As lead pastor, he is the primary preacher/teacher. He also provides primary pastoral care & council. Plus, he further organizes and directs the extended ministry leaders. 


Pastoral Advisory Committee

As it relates to Pastors/Elders, we embrace the Bible's position and precedent of prescribing a plurality of Pastors/Elders to be in place among each local church. With Pastor Russell currently serving as the lone Pastor, we have an ad hoc Advisory Committee in place consisting of 6 guys. These men serve our Pastor and SGC family by way of providing counsel, perspective, wisdom, prayer and insight regarding ministry direction, financial discretion and church function. These guys are such blessings to SGC!

austin & Madi Sievert  

 Sound/Media & Decor Directors

Austin and Madi married in 2021. 


Austin directs our Sound & Media Ministry in coordination with our Music Ministry. Madi is a gifted artist and ministers as our decor director.

MJ & Robbie Hart  

Music & Student Ministry director

M.J directs SGC's Music Ministry in coordination with our Sound & Media Ministry. He also serves as our Aftermath Student Ministry Director.


M.J and Robbie married in 2020. He is a graduate of Lagrange College with a degree in Business with a focus in Sports Management. He presently is a sales specialist at BC Stone Homes. M.J has also published a coloring book for children with special needs entitled 'Difference Makers'


Robbie is a talented hair and makeup artist who currently styles as Beauty By Robbie. She also is an event planner and wedding coordinator. Robbie also ministers in our Kings Kids Buddies Ministry.

Larry & Renee Gay  

    Usher/Security Team director

                                           & Administrator

Larry directs and coordinates our Sunday usher and security teams. He has received a degree in Practical Theology and has ministered as an ordained elder. Plus, he rides a Harley Davidson! He is also an essential voice among SGC's Pastoral Advisory Committee. 


Renee is SGC's administrator. She volunteers every week to facilitate ministry and communciate our mission endeavors among our church family.


Larry and Renee married in 1986 and have two children. Their son happens to be lead Pastor at SGC. There is another adopted son among the family. Their Schnauzer, Munch. Whom the family refers to as 'Munch a Bunch".

Sarah has been married to Russell since 2002. They have four children together. 


Prior to marrying, Sarah had the blessing of achieving a Bachelors Degree in Practical Theology. Since then, she has enjoyed being a homemaker from the time their first child was born. 


Sarah has also been involved with our local Discovery Cottage. This is a specialized school for children who have special needs. Gathering from this experience Sarah  established SGC's ministry for children with special needs, Kings Kids Buddies. A ministry she continues to lead and love.  

Charles & Brenda benefield

Charles and Brenda have been married since 2013. And have three adult children along two grandchildren!


Charles owns a contracting business, Submerge Restoration. Brenda is an office administrator with Georgia Bone and Joint. She also has a degree in childhood education.


These two direct our children's ministry so well. And with great passion. We are grateful for them.

These three help facilitate ministry among SGC so wonderfully as they have been endowed with the grace of our Lord to serve in this unique capacity (1 Timothy 3:11).

Larry Gay, Eddie Wood, Albert Harper and Charles Benefield (left to right) serve our church family so wonderfully. Each of these guys serve in a variety of ways and faithfully facilitate ministry among SGC. We are so thankful for how our Lord has graced them with the unique capacity to serve and be qualified for this office (1 Timothy 3:8-10,12-13).
